Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) has published its annual report on the global attendance of parks, including theme parks, amusement parks, edutainment parks and water parks.

2018 can be considered a turning point for the amusement park industry. More than 500 million guests visited the facilities of the top 10 groups, setting a record with a +4% increase over last year. This increase is mainly due to the greater investments made and the use of new technologies capable of attracting an increasingly large number of visitors.

The market leader remains the Walt Disney Attractions group with 157,311 million visitors and an increase of 4.9% compared to last season, thanks also to the dynamic pricing strategies implemented in the main structures.

In Europe, the average growth of the 20 main attractions was 4.4% with about 65 million visitors.

If we focus on water parks, in the old continent the growth was 6.7%. Here is the full report
